Save if possible. In case you have a surplus at the end, it is wise of you to put it into your savings account to cater for emergencies or to acquire some assets in future. Whenever you can, put some money into your savings account. Set a percentage of your earnings that you need to save monthly and try to follow it. 10% would not deprive you of the major items in your day to day life.

Cut back on your monthly spending. Cut back on some of the unnecessary spending that you have been engaging in for example instead of buying a cup of coffee on the go, you can make yourself a cup at home. The difference may look small but imagine how much you would save if you cut your spending on a couple of things. You will find that at the end of the month, you have saved a couple of pounds which you can channel to other uses. Consider spending more on necessities and less on luxuries like outings, holidays and vacations.

Avoid and pay off your debt as soon as possible. Next time also budget your money carefully so that you will not require borrowing again. Leave your credit card or credit card at home whenever you go out as these could land you even in more debt.
